Interns may support defined work across consulting, products, research, operations, communications, business development, and institutional development. Assignments depend on Halyard’s current priorities, the candidate’s background and interests, project suitability, available supervision, confidentiality, security, and access restrictions.

Depending on the project, interns may help research emerging technologies, improve AI-enabled products, test software and workflows, document organizational knowledge, support communications, organize evidence, or contribute to initiatives that strengthen Halyard Consulting and the organizations it serves.

An intern may support one or more of these areas when suitable. No placement includes every category, and assignments are matched to the candidate, the project, and Halyard’s capacity to provide direction and review.
Research and Analysis
Industry, market, organizational, policy, technology, or emerging-practice research that can support strategy, product, or institutional work.
Product Testing and Documentation
Quality assurance, workflow testing, issue reporting, documentation, feedback organization, website review, or product review.
Prompt Engineering and Responsible AI
Structured prompt testing, evaluation, documentation, responsible AI research, and iterative quality review under supervision.
Content and Communications
Researching, drafting, organizing, or updating educational, website, product, marketing, or institutional materials with review.
Workflow and Knowledge Organization
Mapping workflows, organizing institutional knowledge, documenting processes, and improving internal resources.
Business Development Research
Researching markets, organizations, opportunities, and relevant background information without a promise of direct prospect or client interaction.

No particular major is required. Candidates do not need to be interested in every area, and no intern should expect to work across the entire firm.

Program Structure
Defined work, case-by-case arrangements, and clear expectations.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and placements are considered case by case. Time commitment, duration, scheduling, work arrangement, supervision, and check-in expectations vary by placement.
Remote, hybrid, or location-based arrangements are determined according to the opportunity. Assignments are organized around defined work, and availability depends on current priorities, project suitability, and supervision capacity.

Compensation and academic credit
The Halyard Consulting internship is currently unpaid and is designed primarily for students who are required or wish to complete an internship for academic credit through their college or university.
Students seeking academic credit must obtain approval from their educational institution before beginning. Halyard may provide reasonable documentation, supervision support, hour verification, and evaluations when agreed in advance, but cannot guarantee that a college or university will approve or award credit.
Students are responsible for confirming eligibility, required hours, deadlines, faculty sponsorship, evaluations, paperwork, and all other institutional requirements.
Participation does not guarantee future employment, future compensation, a recommendation letter, client interaction, public portfolio publication, access to confidential materials, or any academic or professional outcome.
