Halyard Internship Program
Halyard Consulting offers an unpaid internship program designed primarily for students who are required or wish to complete an internship for academic credit through their college or university.
Interns contribute to defined, supervised projects while gaining practical exposure to strategy, research, product development, responsible artificial intelligence, organizational modernization, and the operating work behind a growing consulting and technology firm.
About Halyard Consulting
Halyard Consulting helps organizations improve decision-making, governance, operations, knowledge, and responsible technology adoption. The firm combines consulting, research, product development, responsible AI, operational modernization, and institutional learning.
Technology is treated as part of a wider organizational system. Halyard works to understand the institution, its responsibilities, and its operating conditions before recommending change.

About the Program
The internship program advances Halyard’s commitments to workforce development, mentorship, practical learning, responsible technology adoption, community stewardship, and institutional capability.
Interns may support defined work across consulting, products, research, operations, communications, business development, and institutional development. Assignments depend on Halyard’s current priorities, the candidate’s background and interests, project suitability, available supervision, confidentiality, security, and access restrictions.
Why This Internship Is Different
Many internships focus primarily on observation. At Halyard Consulting, interns are invited to contribute to meaningful work appropriate to their experience, assignment, and available supervision.
Depending on the project, interns may help research emerging technologies, improve AI-enabled products, test software and workflows, document organizational knowledge, support communications, organize evidence, or contribute to initiatives that strengthen Halyard Consulting and the organizations it serves.
Potential Areas of Contribution
An intern may support one or more of these areas when suitable. No placement includes every category, and assignments are matched to the candidate, the project, and Halyard’s capacity to provide direction and review.
Industry, market, organizational, policy, technology, or emerging-practice research that can support strategy, product, or institutional work.
Quality assurance, workflow testing, issue reporting, documentation, feedback organization, website review, or product review.
Structured prompt testing, evaluation, documentation, responsible AI research, and iterative quality review under supervision.
Researching, drafting, organizing, or updating educational, website, product, marketing, or institutional materials with review.
Mapping workflows, organizing institutional knowledge, documenting processes, and improving internal resources.
Researching markets, organizations, opportunities, and relevant background information without a promise of direct prospect or client interaction.
Learning Opportunities
Depending on the assignment, interns may develop familiarity with how:
These are opportunities, not guarantees of mastery, certification, employment, or any academic or professional outcome.
Who Should Express Interest
The program may be appropriate for students and early-career candidates interested in artificial intelligence, business strategy, consulting, product development, software engineering, prompt engineering, research, marketing and communications, business development, organizational modernization, or responsible technology.
No particular major is required. Candidates do not need to be interested in every area, and no intern should expect to work across the entire firm.
What Success Looks Like
These qualities matter more than extensive previous professional experience.
Program Structure
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and placements are considered case by case. Time commitment, duration, scheduling, work arrangement, supervision, and check-in expectations vary by placement.
Remote, hybrid, or location-based arrangements are determined according to the opportunity. Assignments are organized around defined work, and availability depends on current priorities, project suitability, and supervision capacity.
Important Program Information
